there’s something about lemonade that gets people going ‘hell yah fuck yah I want some of THAT’
it’s such a staple. it’s everywhere. fairs the side of the road gas stations diners. there’s varieties (raspberry strawberry tropical). entire business dedicated to it. if you offer someone a glass of they’re going to slurp it down. something about lemons sugar and water got people in a TIZZY
it’s been said before and it will be said again but i’m begging you all nicely to restrain yourselves from being so casually aggressive and rude and obnoxious in the tags & reblogs of a complete stranger’s posts. no one wants to know that you hate [tv show that op giffed]. no one wants to know that you hate [character that op drew]. no one wants to hear you being ugly and negative for no reason. say what you want to say in your own post. don’t hit the reblog button. blacklist relevant tags. unfollow or block relevant accounts. log out. shut down. get help.
LOUDER FOR EVERYONE IN THE BACK!!!!
I wouldn’t even be nasty about a character I hate in my own post. I have drafted and deleted many a rant about a character I hate, because I know some people follow me for being in the same fandom - so the probability of some of them liking the character I hate is pretty high.
Why do you feel like you have to shit on other people’s fun instead of just having fun on your own elsewhere?
Very Silly Concept: a show called “Accessibility Nightmares” but it’s structured exactly like Kitchen Nightmares. An accessibility specialist goes to different establishments and helps them make their businesses more accessible.
The accessibility specialist asks why the door at the top of the small set of stairs has a wheelchair symbol on it. The owner replies that’s the accessible bathroom. The camera zooms in on the specialist as they process this information.

A customer with a service dog comes in to a restaurant. The hostess tells them they don’t allow dogs. The accessibly specialist looks over at the hostess like

And there are web accessibility episodes too. The accessibility specialist stares at the white text on the light pink background of the home page like

The specialist asks why not a single product picture has alt text, and the business owner says “Well I mean, it’s makeup, why would a blind person be shopping for makeup?” The specialist just

The specialist asks the web designer how a screen reader user is supposed to complete the captcha portion of the password reset process when there is no audio alternative. The designer admits they don’t know.
this, but only if we get to yell at them like Gordon does.
Oh, 100%. In my head the accessibility specialist is actually still just inexplicably Gordon Ramsay. I was having a delightful time the other day imagining “your videos have auto-generated captions?” being said in the exact same way Gordon says “you’re serving them frozen fish???”
But having the specialist be Ramsay-esque would be crucial, I think. On all accounts; just as Gordon is always patient and polite with the waiters and waitresses, the specialist would be patient and polite with the store staff answering questions about the accessibility options they do not control. But on the flip side, if the person who is in charge is being unnecessarily difficult or just straight up ableist, there is likely to be some yelling and dramatic background music involved.
i think it shld be more widespread for ppl to read aloud to each other as a means of spending time together. like even just a bunch of adults sitting together reading wikipedia articles or something
as my own direct immediate list of game grievances i hate that stardew valley expects you to side against a wheelchair user who is upset that he was moved without his consent. i hate that the mass effect trilogy gives you visible scarring as a direct result of choosing mean dialogue and heals it if you’re nice. i hate that the vampire the masquerade ttrpg has a monstrous player class that can appear as horrible vampiric monsters or as visibly disabled people and both of these appearances are mechanically the same. i hate that dark souls games have a difficulty level implemented in a way that cannot be adjusted for disability. i hate that i can play as a mermaid or a werewolf or a horse in the sims games but can’t use a wheelchair. i hate that the ace attorney games have so much flashing and not all of the games can disable it. i hate that disability is constantly something that happens to teach a lesson, i hate that disability is something that happens as a punishment, i hate that disability is either compensated perfectly with no drawbacks or something that is endlessly sought to be cured. i hate that no character customization will ever include the mobility aids i use, that the player avatars that represent me will never look like me. i am so goddamn annoyed and so goddamn tired.
Ok, so apparently the Bridgerton books are being reprinted with the cast on the covers? Please know that if you’ve never read the books that this is false advertisement. Bridgerton is super white. If you want diverse period dramas I suggest reading Beverly Jenkins, Alyssa Cole, Lena Hart, Courtney Milan, Erica Ridley, Sapna Bhog, Dahlia Rose or Jeannie Lin. The author of Bridgerton also gives off racist vibes due to her “Black ppl don’t fit in my world” comment around the time the first season came out.
The quote was her saying that she didn’t write queer or black characters because she only wanted to write about happy stories:
“I write about, these happy, love stories about people who were living a very comfortable life and had all these good things going on for them. And I don’t think Black people and homosexuals were living that way during the time that I was writing. And I don’t want to write about that. I don’t want to write about the kind of life they were living.”
She said this while sitting down next to Beverly Jenkins, a black author who has been writing historicals with black couples since the start of her career which for context has been about as long,if not longer, than Quinn’s.
So yeah, things to keep in mind when giving the Bridgerton series any undue credit for diversifying romance when so many authors have been doing it for so long. This post doesnt even go into KJ Charles, EE Ottoman who write queer historicals.
This. She also said if she were to include Black ppl and POC in her books then she’d have to find reasons as to why ppl like the Bridgerton’s wouldn’t be racist to them…Like just make them good ppl. It’s not rocket science. This is also why I think her writing the Queen Charolette book is absolutely insane and just stupid. You’re making all these poor excuses as to why you don’t want to include nonwhite characters when you can say that you just don’t want to write them🙄.
I just wanted to boost this post because I work in a library and it pisses me off that she’s profiting from the diversity of the series when that was the doing of a Black woman shonda rimes.
